The CEL-254 has additional functions to the CEL-231 including both A and C frequency weighting. It has Slow, Fast and an Impulse time weighting and a maximum hold feature.
The maximum hold will detect the highest level of noise and hold this on the display.
The CEL-254 is suitable for steady and fluctuating noise levels. An overload indicator and a low battery warning are included in the display. It is possible to check the battery condition anytime during operation. Both analogue AC and log DC outputs are available for feeding tape recorders or chart recorders.
