    (3)量子點(diǎn)的發(fā)射波長可通過控制它的大小和組成來調(diào)諧，可以任意合成所需波長的量子點(diǎn)，大小均勻的量子點(diǎn)譜峰為對稱高斯分布，而傳統(tǒng)的有機(jī)熒光染料的峰形則為對數(shù)正態(tài)分布。 
    (4)量子點(diǎn)的熒光強(qiáng)度比常用的有機(jī)熒光染料羅丹明6G染料高20倍，它的穩(wěn)定性更是羅丹明6G染料的100倍以上，而且量子點(diǎn)抗光漂白能力強(qiáng)。所謂光漂白是指由光激發(fā)引起發(fā)光物質(zhì)分解而使熒光強(qiáng)度降低的現(xiàn)象。有機(jī)熒光染料的光漂白速率很快，而量子點(diǎn)的光漂白作用則遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)小的多，因此可以對所標(biāo)記的物體進(jìn)行長時間的觀察，并可以毫無困難的進(jìn)行相關(guān)界面的修飾和連接，而不像傳統(tǒng)的有機(jī)熒光染料那樣容易發(fā)生熒光淬滅。這也為研究細(xì)胞中生物分子之間長期相互作用提供了有力的工具。 
    (5)生物相容性好，尤其是經(jīng)過各種化學(xué)修飾之后，可以進(jìn)行特異性連接，細(xì)胞毒性低，對生物體危害小，可進(jìn)行生物活體標(biāo)記和檢測，而傳統(tǒng)的有機(jī)熒光染料一般毒性較大，生物相容性差。 
    (6)熒光壽命長，典型的有機(jī)熒光染料的熒光壽命僅為幾納秒(ns)，這與很多生物樣本的自發(fā)熒光衰減的時間相當(dāng)。而量子點(diǎn)的熒光壽命可持續(xù)長達(dá)數(shù)十納秒(20 ns～50 ns)，這使得當(dāng)光激發(fā)數(shù)納秒以后，大多數(shù)的自發(fā)熒光背景已經(jīng)衰減，而量子點(diǎn)熒光仍然存在，此時即可獲得無背景干擾的熒光信號。 
    這些*的光學(xué)特性，使量子點(diǎn)成為了一種理想的熒光探針。因此，使用量子點(diǎn)代替有機(jī)熒光染料，將在細(xì)胞定位、信號傳導(dǎo)、細(xì)胞內(nèi)分子的運(yùn)動和遷移等研究中發(fā)揮重要的作用。鑒于以上這些優(yōu)點(diǎn)，量子點(diǎn)的制備以及在各領(lǐng)域的應(yīng)用研究都取得了突破性進(jìn)展。
